Oops!

I mean to go straight to my page and on to  Erin's blog!  Instead, I found myself here, so here goes nothing!

Heather moved out.  Wow!  It happened so quickly.  One day she's telling me that she's going to move to Salt Lake with Trisha and I'm asking, "Now who is Trisha?"  The next thing I know, they have a few appointments to look at apartments, so they spend a day doing that.  They came home from that day having applied for a place.  The next day, they were approved.  Within a few days, they had paid their first rent and acquired keys!  Then all of a sudden, Heather's bringing oodles of boxes home from work and packing her stuff.  A few days later, she comes home and says she's renting a Uhaul and moving out on Wednesday and will I please drive her car to Salt Lake that day since she'll be driving the Uhaul?  It all happened within three weeks, maybe less.  Boom!  Heather doesn't live here anymore!!  Tomorrow night, we're celebrating Levi's birthday because he's out of town today (driving home from the birthday trip he gave himself), and it's the first time Heather's coming over since she moved.  It's up on the white board for the boys:

no school
sleep late
visiting teachers come
clean Austin's room
buy ice cream
make birthday cake
HEATHER'S COMING
Levi's birthday!!!!

Of course, it's not in all caps and bolded on the white board.  I did that for dramatic effect.  It's just odd that one of the things I might tell the boys will happen in a day is that Heather is coming for a visit.

That reminds me I need to box up the clean clothes of hers that are in the laundry hall so she can take them home with her.  She didn't exactly take ALL her belongings when she moved out.  Just the stuff she could fit in the Uhaul and her car.  Lots o' clothes happening in that girl's room, I tell you what!!

Levi is twenty years old today.  Holy toledo.  Erin blogged that she blinked and her kids got older and bigger.  Well, she better look out.  I think I blinked.  Or perhaps I did as Dick Van Dyke said in Mary Poppins:  You wink, you think, you do a double-blink, you close your eyes and jump!  Whatever it was that I did, all of a sudden my funny little thoughtful, precocious, if-he's-walking-he's-ambling Levi got to be a deep-thinking, brilliantly smart, word-loving, music-loving, laid-back grownup!!  He's one of my very best friends, a boast he and Heather share.

So, welcome to your own apartment, Heather!  Come back and visit anytime!!
And, happy birthday, Leviticus!!  Stay here as long as you like; this mom won't be kicking you out!!

Don't tell me that. Time is going by too fast already! I think it is awesome how close you are to your kids. I hope for that close of a relationship as mine grow up.

Has she been living at home all this time? Then this is huge, her first time away from home! That's an exciting time of life. I have't experienced it with my own kids yet, but it's coming, oh-so-soon. J's a senior this year, and then he'll pretty much be gone. sniff. I love that you're such great friends with your kids!
